Hello everyone. Tatsuya Nakatani is a sound artist and percussionist who has had a lot of influence on other percussionists, including the board's own Ryan Jewell. He'll be here this Sunday, November 8th at Columbus Dance Theater.
Columbus Dance Theater is on the corner of East Main and Lester, just west of the I-71 / E. Main St. exit downtown, and there is plenty of parking available on Lester. Show starts at 8 (8--11:30?) , with Wizards (Hasan Razzaq- saxes, Adam Smith- drums, Gerard Cox- organ + piano) to open.

- This is one for both fans of outside/experimental music, and those who like traditional and world musics. Tatsuya combines extended/modern techniques on percussion with a very Eastern sense of space and concentration. There's really nobody else who does quite what he does- very haunting, entrancing....For more info on Tatsuya, visit: http://www.hhproduction.org
And on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGNfu8o-RTs
Tatsuya will first perform a solo percussion set and then play with some special guests: saxophonist Michael Carey, bassist Steve Perakis, synthesist Adam Smith, and guitarist Aditya Jayanthi.
Detroit saxophonist Michael Carey will also be sitting in with Wizards. To check out Wizards, visit: http://www.myspace.com/wizards1974
Join us then for this special concert on Sunday at 8. Refreshments will be available. BYOB.
(In order to give Tatsuya a respectful compensation, suggested donation is $10. Lower amounts will be graciously accepted but please donate this if you can.)
