I am with a band called The Rust Belt Ramblers (Chicago). We are going to be touring the Midwest and will be coming through Ohio Sunday, October 25th. We are an Americana band and we can bring the noise if we are playing with harder bands or keep it soft or acoustic if we're playing with folk artists or acoustic acts. We are looking for a local headliner and an opening act that can draw a crowd and for a venue, preferably one with regulars there for music and a guarantee for transportation of touring bands. If you know of a venue that would be interested in having a show or are a band that would go well with our style, please get in touch with us! Let's play some music!

Also, if there are bands interested in playing between October 23rd and the 26th in Ft. Wayne, Detroit, or Bloomington/Normal, Nov. 6 & 7 in Milwaukee and Minneapolis, or between Dec 12 and 20th in Chicago, St. Louis, Memphis, Athens, Gainesville, New Orleans, Austin, and Houston, in that order, let us know!

Eric, a guarantee? Are you serious?

Rugrat, should we be siphoning the gas from squad cars to tour? How would it be possible for us to tour without getting guarantees? It's only fair if a venue, or whatever, is selling drinks or charging a cover that the band gets compensated, if not at least for their time, at least for the investment of gas and all that it put into traveling hundreds of miles to perform. It'd be nice to be able to play shows and not go into debt, because unfortunately none of us have a trust fund or any other means of going on tour for "free." We've got to have some way to make it from state to state and I just somehow don't see Mickey getting on a bicycle and dragging around his upright.

If you've got any suggestions on touring w/o a guarantee, I'd be more than willing to listen.
