noah: grad student at osu (it reveals itself to be more ridiculous every day),
enjoyer of all things d.i.y., positive energy, punk stuff, the fun simple things in life, all the things I'd like to learn but have no time for in grad school, contemporary music history, making shitty stuff that i like anyway, etc. I probably found out about this from one of the flyers at a show, if the url was ever on there. if not, i went to google and typed "columbus diy" out of curiousity. i'm fairly new to columbus and all I want to do is hang out a lot more than I currently do. 23 years old. is anything going on tonight? damn.

I'm Branka. I've been living in Athens for nearly ten years and will continue to be here for at least two more until I graduate from OU. I have had a growing interest in music, primarily metal, beginning with the fateful day in mid-2002 when I discovered Iron Maiden and have since spent a great deal of time expanding my musical horizons and abusing my ears. I love the feeling of discovering phenomenal new bands and getting records in the mail!

In addition to the usuals, I'm currently on a traditional doom and 80s Brazilian thrash metal kick--what I'd give to have been in Belo Horizonte in 1985!

Anyway, I'm primarily here because I'm goddamn tired of having to look to internet forums to find people who like similar music or have potentially similar attitudes towards life. Here's to hoping I come across decent local or at least semi-local folks.

hi i'm anuj. been at osu for almost 4 yrs now. been to some house shows. might recognize me as awkward brown man usually with black-framed glasses in the corner at house shows. read this forum (and donewaiting) once in a while but somehow never took the time to register and post. bummed about moving back to dublin into my parents' house (condo, to be precise) for the summer and thereafter, but will be around quite a bit hopefully (thank you COTA #18 and/or shared car). buddies with dudes in smart girls (who're playing monster house next week on sat 5/23). possibly acquainted with some peeps on here.

hey, i'm justin.

i'm from north linden and i have played in a handful of bands over the years. my current working project is cat swallower and we're kinda yucky and noisey.

i suffer from violent swings in musical taste, but i will always have a crusty heart.

i like oven-bake pizza, schlock horror, and red red wine.

My name is Anthony..

Sometimes you might see me at shows, crying in a beer.

It isn't my fault, everyone I know has cancer and is dead.

Oh, and I'm Biff. Or Barf. I can't remember which, but it isn't Boff. I don't get laid enough.

I'm Charlesanne.
Right now, I'm in Houston, Tx. As of August, Columbus for grad school.

I found out about this board from a friend (eric from I heart you productions) on our Houston board (handsuphouston).
Seems that this board is a lot less bitchy than Houston's, good thing.

I do all the normal things, listen to music (just got back from Chaos in Tejas and I'm still tired), read books, watch movies (period dramas and gory gory horror), cooking and eating (mostly mexican food and baked goods).

I'm flying to Columbus June 20-23rd to look for a place for me and my three girls (dogs, not humans) to live.
SO, if you know of any awesome landlord type people that have something available to rent and happen to love big rescued slobbery shar peis, please let me know.

ALSO, I will keep my eyes open for shows happening during my visit and will defiantly come out. Be nice to me if you see me, I'll be tired from the plane ride and riding around with suit type people looking at places to live.

that was a lot of parenthesis...

thanx
c.a.

I'm Jennifae, a thirty year old, alcoholic, Sagitarius who enjoys live music, drinking, and peacefully co-exhisting.

My dream is to make it as comedian. Not rich, just famous enought to get paid gigs and live a trailor.

My biggest fears are birds, and using the restroom with out checking to make sure there are no monsters in the toilet. That's not a joke. I just can't go in the dark because I can't look first.

I've lived here for about a decade, I know most of you guys as aquaintences, but could always use a new friend.

Favorite color blue, musical performer David Bowie, and comedy film Blazing Saddles.

This is fun. I enjoyed reading people's stuff, espcially the kid that just farted.Image

I am still Craig. I have changed my name to protect those who lack the ability to laugh at themselves.

I'm still with American Mediocre, though between june and oct. shows for us will be hard to set up as i travel during the EPA sample season.

Best of luck to you and yours

I'm Aaron, a transplant from Athens OH to Columbus for the rest of the summer months. When I'm not working I should be at a lot of those crazy shows on that crazy calendar.
I like to listen to crust and hardcore and folk, among other things. I play some instruments, too. Hopefully we meet!

I'm Courtney, a 23 year old Columbus native, student, and single mom.

I'm a musician, though I'm not sure how many not shit bands want a classical violist these days. Mostly I'm all about learning. Would love to find some shows to go to though.

I also like beer.

My name is Royce. I'm an artist/ musician/ filmmaker/ writer type dude.

I'm from all over central ohio, but moved back to c-bus last year after a stint in Seattle. I work in a grocery store. I'm in a lot of more or less inactive bands, and I've released dozens of solo records. That's pretty much it.

I'm Melissa. I got a vocal performance degree in Omaha and moved to Columbus last month to hang out for a while until I decide where to go next (family's here).

Recommendations from this lovely Columbus DIY community on sights to see, people to taunt/friends to make, and beers to drink would be greatly appreciated.

I'm Tony. I just moved to Columbus to start my freshman year at OSU. My dorm is roughly 200 yards away from the monster house (I think, I haven't worked up the courage to knock on the door, but its the right address) and I can't wait to see a show there!

I'm also a huge nerd and would appreciate the company of others of my species.

Hello I'm Ian. Originally from the West side, I've lived all over ohio. Went to High School in Grove City then Lived in Newark for like 6 years and got way into metal. Before then all i knew was punk and shitty hip hop. I've done nothing but talk big in my life, now i want to see some things through. Music, Written word, social revolution. I for some reason feel unsavvy to the columbus DIY scene like it was a kid i went to school with but didnt talk to very much. Just trying to get to know people and start a militant regime of free thinkers wanting to put theory into practice. I think change has to start somewhere. why not a forum?

umm i'm mike, i just moved to columbus about 2 months ago. I was born in washington DC and lived there until i was 10. but really i am from a small town in ohio near athens called portland where i lived with one other punk until i was 16. i moved to west virginia for my last 2 years of high school and then moved to kansas city for a year with an ex. lover. things don't workout so i moved back to ohio and decided to plant my feet in columbus. i've played in a few bands, my last being endless vomit. i am now singing in a band called rocks@cops mentioned above that will make you all shit blood everywhere. so hi to all, and yeah.

I am Sally Louise Polk, I play the violin and I make yarn. I sing songs when I ride my bike. I love wigs, loud music and digging through trash. I have a really nice compost pile and I have a pet rat whose name is also Sally Louise.

I was born in Lexington, Kentucky but I grew up in Columbus.

My name is Bob, I think I vaguely know most of you. I am the fat guy with the red beard and a melvins patch on his jean jacket that goes to metal shows.

Also, did anyone see the reunion show at the download festival?

I am Spencer. I play guitar in triathlete(currently looking for shows). I ride a bicycle everywhere and hate automobiles. I know that I've met a lot of you, but have a terrible time connecting names with faces. I was born and raised here in Columbus and live on N. campus on Adams. As of lately, I am currently on an indefinite hiatus from college. I enjoy animated films and television, graphic novels, sci-fi, winter, and racing bicycles. I despise paying money for shows however wholly support donating to touring bands and good causes. I like thrash, punk, grind, metal(all of it), hardcore or anything fast and loud. I don't get out to many show as I work late at a restaurant, however I try on my nights off.

I will try to check back here from time to time and hope to meet some of you at shows, when I can get to them. You can typically spot me with a dirty red cycling cap, black/white helmet and black knickers. Say hello, I enjoy conversing with new people about things I know nothing about.
