pretend someone cares that you were at the sickest show EV-AR last nite, AND you've got the thrash rash and bangover to prove it.

plus some more

after some difficulty finding the venue we finally arived at 7:30 pm. good thing too because although the flyer said it would start at 6:00 pm sharp not one band had played

the first band was foundation or maintain and then the other one played. both of these were snorefests. then lie and wait played... I talked to friends and walked around.

then right idea played and about 35 kids went absolutely bananas singing along to every song, diving, piling on and all in all being very posi. they opened with the wide awake intro and then did most of the demo tunes. they played glue by ssd and kids went bonkers. during one song the security guard came up and got mad while people were diving and tried to get into the middle of things so jeff just stuck the mic in her face and kids piled on around her, it was a site to see.

after that mad minds played and they opened with cro- mags we gotta know intro and kids murdered each other. they went through their set of unfamiliar yet good hardcore in the vein of the mags and faster 80's hardcore bands. they covered fed up by judge and it was good.

after that i rise and wake up call played and I ate in the bar. I had a decent gyro, with the sauce served on the side which was kind of lame, and a deep fried peanut butter and jelly sandwich that was tasty but I couldn't get through more than a couple of bites as it was so greasy.

next up was down to nothing - they sounded pretty good, the back up vocals were super loud and reminded me of seeing agnostic front for some reason, kids went insane and the whole floor opened up into a karate kick and punch melee. Scotty and I watched the same security guard walk out into pit and then get scared and walk right back to the edge of it, she was also fending off moshers with her retractable baton. funny stuff.

we left before have heart and I took a much needed nap on the way home. I wish I could go see right idea again on saturday. hopefully they will be coming through columbus in april with the first step. is there any straight edge band in columbus?
