right on....there's definitely people around that are into this kind of stuff....punks and otherwise. i guess the best thing would be to get to know people and see what you can get into. good luck and maybe you can breathe some new life into the DIY music scene!

(i have been living an hour out of town for the past 4 years so i wouldn't be a very good person to give you the best info on specific non-music happenings.)

Also, I meant their status as a band, which I think is hard to define but not really diy anymore. Sure, they might book all their shows themselves, do their art themselves, record their own music, etc but think about the other end of diy which is all of the people who booked their shows, let them stay at their house, cooked them food, made their fliers, etc. That band would not be anywhere without those people despite their talent.

Did this make sense to anyone? I don't get it, so if a DIY band plays a show that you book and make fliers for and then you put them up, theyre no longer DIY? So pretty much, once a DIY band goes on tour, or really plays anywhere outside their own house, they are no longer DIY. Okay, I guess I'm not as offended that you don't think they are DIY anymore since youre batshit crazy.

I tend to think of the letters DIY as irrelevant anymore, there are two types of people in the world,

A) people who do things themselves.

B) people who pay others to suck their dick, and do their chores.

as far as any of this is concerned, it's about helping each other out. this is like arguing about who's punker than whom.
